Siamese Cat – Work in Progress

Thursday, Feb. 2nd 2012 3:52 PM

Started work on a new pastel portrait, this time of a Siamese cat named Zelda. Progress so far:

Siamese cat portrait.

Siamese cat pastel drawing.

I’m considering writing up some tutorials of some description. Not sure just what exactly yet, but it’s something to think about.

Hello i have just started using pastel pencils im learning techniques as i go really i have done my first horse portrait which is ok (i dont know if your on facebook but i have it on there im nicki monaghan i have art folder so i can discuss with brother) I am happy with my first attempt i have always learnt by doing in any of my artwork but i would really like to read about peoples techniques with fur ii cant find a book anywhere so if you were to write some tutorials that would be great id definitely follow them. there are so many ways of using pastels like i see you work on a section at a time finishing it where as others will say fill all the dark black areas around eyes ears etc then add colour shadow etc its very interesting. really enjoyed looking at your work its lovely kind regards Nicki
