Pet Photography Tips

For me to create the best possible portrait of your pet, good photos are essential. Digital photos are preferred, but I also accept photos through the post. When ordering a portrait, it is best to include several photos if you have them, even if you have one in particular you want me to draw from, so that I will have the best idea of what your pet looks like. Also, colours don't always show up accurately in photos, so please include any information about your pet's colouring if you feel it necessary.

When taking photos of your pet, natural lighting will usually produce the best results, as a flash can produce harsh lights and shadows. The advantage of having a digital camera is that you will be able to take as many photos as you please in varying conditions to get the best image to work from. Unless you specifically want a picture of your pet looking up at you, it is often better to get down to your pet's level to take photos.

Even if you don't have the best photo to work from, I will work with you to still get a good portrait for you. Feel free to e-mail me to discuss anything.
